MEMORIALS

Durban has many war memorials to the fallen of WW1 and WW2 found in quiet corners. Space permitting, I shall be loading a few of them here.

Most of my war memorial and headstone photos are shared with other organisations such as EGGSA and SAWGP in an effort to record them before they deteriorate or are destroyed in some manner.

EGGSA is the virtual branch of the Genealogical Society of South Africa, providing an online home for family tree researchers from the beginner to the most advanced family historian.

SAWGP , the South Africa War Graves Project records South African & Rhodesian war graves from the 2nd Anglo-Boer War, Bambatha Rebellion, WW1, Rand Revolt, WW2, Korea, Freedom Struggle, Angola-Border War, Non World War and Police to present day.

Both these organisations rely heavily on volunteers and welcome any photographic contributions so please have a look at their sites and consider donating any relevant photos you may have, to be preserved online for future generations.
